TREATMENT APPROACH
My clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices that include cognitive behavioral approaches (CBT), behavioral interventions, mindfulness, exposure and response prevention (ERP), parent training, and dialectical behavior strategies (DBT). I focus on the role of family, relationships, past experiences, communication styles, and individual strengths and supports in shaping day to day experiences and successes.
I work with clients to recognize and understand unhelpful patterns and to build coping skills, effective emotion regulation skills, communication skills, a support system, and self-care techniques. I tailor my approach to meet the specific individual needs of my clients and to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and the client’s input, goals, preferences, and feedback are incredibly important. I value a warm, caring, comfortable, supportive, and non-judgmental therapy environment.
